The «Choeur National des Jeunes» (CNJ) includes 27 choristers aged 18 to 28. They are selected after an audition testing their vocal and artistic qualities. They come from eve ry part of France and from Belgium. When they created the CNJ in 1999, Ŕ Coeur Joie aimed to give young skilled singers the possibility to reach a high level repertoire. The choir currently meets annually for a summer session and 6 week-ends ending with concerts. The choir took part in many festivals, went on a tour in China in 2005. They received 5 first prizes in the Guido d’Arezzo (Italia) International Competition in 2007.

 

Valérie Fayet received her degree in choral conducting from the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique”, Lyons, and has been deputy to Bernard Tetu, the “Solistes de Lyon” conductor. She currently teaches choral singing and choir conducting, and also conducts the “Pays de Loire” orchestra choir.

The Norwegian National Youth Choir

The Norwegian National Youth Choir was founded in 1987 by Mr. Carl Hřgset who was the conductor until 2003. Every summer, this project choir gathers 40 dedicated amateur singers between 16 and 26 years of age from all parts of Norway. The repertoire is basically romantic music, national and international folk music and contemporary music. The choir has participated in several prizes through the years. In 2006 the choir was part of the Europa Cantat festival in Mainz, Germany. In 2007 the choir won the Grand Premio in the C.A. Seghizzi competition in Gorizia, Italy. Since 2006, Ms Anne Karin Sundal is the conductor of the choir.

 

Anne Karin Sundal (1973) is the artistic director of The Norwegian National Youth Choir. Originally a flautist, Anne karin was educated at the Trondheim Music Con servatory and The Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo where she majored in choral direction. Anne Karin has led several of Norway's most outstanding choirs to first prizes in international choral competitions; most recently the Musica Mundi’s International Choir Competition in Italy and Budapest, as well as the C.A. Seghizzi and the Concorso polifonico in Guido d'Arezzo, Italy. Anne Karin has also received prizes and stipendiums for outstanding choral leadership.

Mixed choir of Latvian Academy of Music

Mixed choir of Latvian Academy of Music was founded in 1945. The choir consists of 42 singers who are students of choir conducting and music pedagogy departments at Latvian Academy of Music. This choir was made as a forge for young choir conductors – next lead ers of children and adult amateur choirs. It is place where to develop singing and conduct ing skills through regular practice during rehearsals every week under study period of the Latvian Academy of Music. To provide more extensive knowledge on different musical styles, choir takes part in master classes led by specialists in certain field.. In 1992-2005 choir was taking part in 27 projects of Europa Chor Akademie and performed vocal - sym phonic works in Germany, Poland, Sweden, Greece, and USA with conductors Sylvian Camberling and Michael Gielen.Since 2005 choir’s artistic director is Ints Teterovskis.

 

Ints Teterovskis holds a Master’s degree in Conducting and Music Education from the Latvian Academy of Music.He has supplemented his knowledge of baroque music per formance at courses in Dartington (England), Bremen (Germany) and knowledge of con ducting in The Third Eric Ericson Master Class for Choral Conductors in Haarlem (The Netherlands). Mr Teterovskis is conductor of well known Latvian youth choir BALSIS, and is also a professional singer with the Riga Dom Cathedral Boys’ Choir.

APZ Tone Tomšič unites students of the University of Ljubljana who share a great love of singing and an unceasing wish to perform at the highest artistic level. The choir continues the tradition of the Academy choir of the University of Ljubljana founded in 1926 by France Marolt which consisted of male singers only. After the Second World War, the choir began its activity again, this time as a mixed choir under a new name, Akademski pevski zbor Tone Tomšič. The choir has always been led by recognized conductors: France Marolt, Radovan Gobec, Janez Bole, Lojze Lebič, Igor Lavrič, Marko Munih, Jože Fürst, Jernej Habjanič and Stojan Kuret. Since October 2002, it is led by Urša Lah. Under her leadership, the choir has achieved many great successes. (Tampere, Cantinigros, Maribor, Gorizia, Varna)

 

Urša Lah studied musical education at the Ljubljana Music Academy. She was a mem ber of some of Slovenia's best vocal ensembles and a member of the professional Slovene Chamber Choir from 1992-1996. Her successes so far have been connected to the artistic leadership of the Mixed Youth Choir Veter, with which she won many Gold Plaques, First Prizes and special prizes at competitions in Slovenia and Europe. From 1998-2002 Urša Lah was also the conductor of the National Radio Chamber Choir with which she had several first performances of works by contemporary Slovene composers.
